A.M. Shaikh Homoeopathic Medical College was established in 1967 by People’s Education Society & Trust. It was the first ever institution in India to get ISO certificate in 1996 2000. It is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. Today it is regarded as one of the largest Homoeopathic Colleges of repute in the whole India.

Course Description :

The college offers Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery course. It is a five year Degree Program.

Admission Criteria :

The candidate should have passed 12th Std or +2 or PUC with minimum of 40% aggregate marks & 35% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology.Selection is base on entrance exam held by the university.

FACILITIES & Departments @ A M Shaikh Homeopathy College:

Class Rooms:

Classrooms provide a good learning ambience with sufficient seating capacity to accommodate 100 students each. Each classroom is equipped with permanent screen, OHP & facilities for LCD projector. 

Physiology Laboratory:

Equipped with facilities for conducting both physiology & bio-chemistry practicals separately. Can accommodate 50 students at a time. Has facilities for providing all the training on normal functioning & standards to make a student understand the deviations in an abnormal situation.

Pathology Department:

Equipped with all the gazettes & equipments to facilitate the learning of abnormalities both microscopic & macroscopic in diseased conditions.

Pharmacy Department:

Provides facilities for accommodating 50 students at a time to facilitate the learning of various sources of drugs & methods of drug dynamization (potentization). Has more than 80 plants in pharmacy garden for live demonstration of medicinal plants.

Anatomy laboratory:

Provides sufficient number of cadavers for dissection & more than 400 specimens are available for demonstration. Leaves no stone unturned in exploring the human body & facilitate to achieve the learning objectives.

Dept. of Surgery:

Fully equipped operation theatre to conduct all kinds of urology, gynocological surgeries. Regular circumcision camps are conducted through this department.

Forensic Medicine & Toxicology:

Facilitates the learning of medicolegal aspects & the department is fully equipped with specimens, models, poisons & charts for demonstration to the students.

Obstetrics & Gynaecology :

The department is equipped with USG machine, CTG machine, Foetal incubator etc. We have full fledged gynaecologist for handling emergency cases. This department facilitates students to understand the physiology, stages & management of normal labour; to gain knowledge of diet & regimen & management of patient during antenatal & postnatal period.

Repertory Department:

Facilitates students in learning case taking & repertorization; make students understand & learn the modern methods of repertorization using computer softwares. Students are posted in central computer lab for the training of computer repertorzation.

Medicine Department:

Facilitates the students to take case in detail, make a thorough general physical examination, systemic examination, suggest the common investigations appropriate for the case, interpret the results of investigations to know the pace of the disease & its progress & make the plan of treatment.

Materia Medica:

A subject spread all throughout the course 7 facilitates learning of the medicinal substances & their indications while treating a patient.

Organon & Homoeopathic Philosophy:

A subject taught over four & half years to facilitate the students to learn the principles of homoeopathy & their applications.
